Carlukes poor league form continued with this heavy defeat on Saturday in Glasgow! this despite a good start to the match when they were unlucky not to take the lead after when an Ian watt run won a corner and as this was swung in Mark Haddow got an excellent header in but this was met by an equally good save.
The home side took the lead in the 13th min when a mix up in the rovers defence allowed them through on goal and a cut back was drilled home for 1-0, this was quickly followed by a second when a hopeful header was fumbled by Gavin McLachlan to make it 2-0.
Worse was to follow a few second later when Scott McGeachie gave away an unnecessary penalty which was converted to give the home side a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time this despite Rovers having a couple of chances the best of which saw Stephen Fergusons shot come back off the bar before being cleared.
The second half saw Rovers try to get back in to the match and they got a goal back in 60 mins when Craig Stark saw a header saved at the expense of a corner and as this was swung in McGeachie glanced a header in to make it 3-1.
This goal only gave false hope though as another mistake in the Rovers defence this time from Andy Barr in 68 mins saw them 4-1 down before the final goal was scored by Maryhill in the 86th min by Maryhill.
