Carluke played this match at Cumnock Juniors fantastic new facility and with a few new faces trying to gel in to the side they put in a confident and competent performance coming back from 2-0 down to earn a draw against a strong Lugar side.
Carluke started confident on the ball but a few mistakes crept in and allowed Lugar a couple of chances on the break.
Rovers created a host of chances early on with Mark Weir winning a corner when his shot was blocked clear with the resultant corner seeing debut man Dale Gordon firing the ball well over the Lugar bar, then Lewis McDougall pounced on a slack Lugar pass back but his chipped effort also went high and wide of the target.
Rovers were controlling the match at this point with Ian Watt next to try his luck when good work from Chick McCole set him free but again the final effort was not good enough, the next attack saw McDougall earn a corner which found its way to Jonny Wilson who put in a great cross to find Reece Lowdon at the back post but his effort struck the post and was cleared.
Lugar took full advantage of this lucky break and went straight up the park and scored the opening goal of the match past Daniel Tobin in the Rovers goal for 1-0 after 16 mins.
Normal service was resumed after this goal with Carluke continuing to look to get on the score sheet with Watt next on the attack but his excellent chip brought off an equally good save to dent him.
Lugar saw another break end with an effort headed off the post in 21 mins before the match slowed down a bit with chances being at a premium.
With half time approaching Wilson set up another chance for Watt and his low shot brought out another good save from the home keeper, the final chance of the half saw Watt’s strength allow him to win a ball over the Lugar defence but another good save denied him again.

The second half was only a couple of minutes old when Lugar doubled their lead with a well worked corner that saw a glancing header beat Gordon Bruce in the Rovers goal for 2-0.
Rovers were stung in to action by this goal and Ali Graham put a good ball in to the path of Watt but again his effort was blocked withy the loose ball falling to Graham but his effort went well over the bar.
Carluke were not to be denied for long though and they got a goal back in 55 mins with a fantastic move down the right involving Renwick, Dickson and McDougall who fed Watt out wide, the striker put in an excellent low ball with Jordan Munn reacting quickest to drive the ball home for Rovers first goal of the match for 2-1.
Watt continued to be the Rovers best hope of another goal as he created chance after chance but none of the produced an end result.
Rovers continued to control the match with Lugar having an odd chance on the break and they eventually got the goal that their play deserved when McCole went on a great run before linking with Munn and picking up the return and driving a low effort in to the net for 2-2.
Carluke had a great chance to win the match in the 81st min when good work from Watt on the right ended with him putting in a fine cross that was headed just over the bar by Graham before the final chance of the match fell to Watt but another fine save denied him yet again.
