The home side took the lead without having played much football in the 8th min when a long ball from Willie Souter was controlled by Ian Watt before he turned and fired in a low shot from just inside the penalty area for 1-0.
While not playing at their best Rovers were in control of the match at this point with Watt causing a few problems to the Larkhall defence. The 23rd min saw Rovers next and probably last decent effort on the Larky goal when Greg Cavanagh linked up with Watt who set up Scott McGeachie for an effort on goal which was saved at the expense of a corner, this was swung in and brought out another save before being cleared.
Larkhall got back on level terms in the 26th min when Cavanagh wanted one touch too many before losing possession to Larkhall and after two passes the ball was cut back from the left before being forced over the line for 1-1, further damage was done to the Rovers cause a few minutes later as they again gave away possession before a second Larky goal was scored from the left of the park.
The second half was very poor fare with chances few and far between and Rovers not putting pressure on a Larky team there to be run at.
Stephen Ferguson set up a chance for Mark Weir in the 72nd min but his effort was saved and the home side had a wee shout for what would have been a soft penalty in the 80th min but that was about it and the match fizzled out to another costly defeat for Carluke.
