The management team and committee at Carluke Rovers are pleased to announce that Garry Black has agreed to extend his contract until the end of Season 25-26.

Our media team caught up with Garry after signing the extension:

    • Garry, fantastic news, you’re the third player to commit their future to the club following Ross & Olly. How are you feeling having extended your stay?

Brilliant, im really happy to have re-signed for next season. It is such a positive environment to be playing football in, with everyone pushing in the same direction.

    • I think it’s clear to see how pivotal you are to the group but what was the motivation behind extending your contract?

If you look at the progression we have made over the past few months, it’s easy to see we have the quality in the dressing room to do well enough to take the club back to where it should be. All of the players and management are the biggest believers in that, so we will stick together in order to achieve it.

    • Thomas, no game this weekend but the work doesn’t stop behind the scenes as you get your third player this week to commit their future to the club. How important is it to get Garry committed for next season?

Getting Garry to the club this year was a massive coup for us. I think it’s testament to the work going on that he wants to stay, as believe me he could easily play, and has played at a higher level. Like all top keepers, his experience gives defenders that reassurance with him behind them, he has been outstanding for us and I’m sure he will continue to be next season.

Great to have you on board for next season Garry.
