Carluke entertained Royal Albert knowing that a win depending on other results could see them jump to 4th place in the league but they would have to do it with a scratch squad due to injury, suspensions and holidays.
The visitors were first to show in this match when they broke through the Rovers defence but the final chip was high over Dan Tobins goal.
The first chance that came the way of Carluke fell to Lewis McDougall but his effort was easily dealt with by the Royal Albert keeper.
Rovers thought they had taken the lead in the 13th minute when Peter Lynn forced a corner which was played to the back post where Greg Fernie shot towards goal only for the ball to be cleared off the line by the visitors defence.
The home side were not to be denied for too long however and they took the lead in the 20th min when Ian Watt and Jonny Wilson combined on the right before Wilson put an excellent left foot cross to the far post where Lynn was on hand to prod the ball home for 1-0.
This lead was almost doubled in the next attack of any note when Jordan Duncan linked with debut man Alberto Vezza who stabbed the ball through the advancing keepers legs but again an Albert defender cleared off the line.
Fernie had another chance to increase the home lead when good work on the left allowed him to hit a great chip that saw the Albert keeper use all of his height to stretch back and tip the ball on to the post before it went out for a corner.
The last chance of the half fell to Royal Albert when they broke on the right before the ball was cut back but a low shot was well saved by Tobin in the Rovers goal.

The start of the second half saw the sides trade chances when first Chick McCole saw an effort from distance well saved by the visiting keeper before Tobin in the Rovers goal brought off another good save from a low shot after an Albert break on the left.
The match continued to be quite open and Rovers produced another chance on 51 mins when excellent work from McDougall produced a chance for Watt but another good stop from the Albert keeper kept the lead at 1-0.
Watt was coming more in to the match now and after a good run across field he saw another shot go just wide of the goal.
With 78 mins on the clock McDougall set Lynn free on the left but despite his well hit shot being on target the Albert keeper brought off another good save to keep it at only one goal in the match.
The home side eventually wrapped the match up in the 81st min when Watt and Fernie linked up well on the edge of the visitors box before Fernie drove a low shot past the Albert keeper for 2-0.
Royal Albert created the last chance of the match in 86 mins when a long throw was collected in the box before a good net bound effort was tipped round the post by Tobin for a corner that came to nothing.
This was an excellent win for Carluke that has given then four league wins in a row to move them up to fourth place in the league their highest placing since the first day of the season.
