Match Report

Carluke probably got what they deserved from this match which was nothing after their poorest performance for a while that led to their first league defeat of the season.

Things could have been better for the home side as they broke through Ian Watt in the 3rd minute but after working his way in to the Dunipace box his final shot was poor and easily dealt with by the visiting keeper, this was one of very few openings for either side in a poor first half as it took until 14 mins for Dunipace to threaten but after a move down the right the ball was played across the Rovers goal but went wide of the far post.

As half time approached watt set Murphy free on the left but his cross saw both Stuart Arnott and JC Savage both robbed of the ball as they tried to get efforts away on goal. On the stroke of half time Arnott did well to close down the Dunipace defence before setting up Mark Weir but his fine shot brought out a good save from the Dunipace keeper.

The second half saw Carluke fail to lift the pace and it was no surprise when Dunipace took the lead in 50 mins although Carluke did assist them in the goal when a hopeful ball was not dealt with by comeback keeper Gavin McLachlan and a soft header opened the visitors account.

This lead was doubled in the 55th min when a throw in from the Dunipace right was played across goal and a deft flick from their centre forward saw the ball in to the net for a 2-0 lead.

Carluke never got to grips with the match at all in this second half and it took a couple of fine saves from McLachlan to stop the score being even more embarrassing.
