Match Report

Carluke Rovers were on their travels for this pre-season friendly away to Division 1 side Blantyre Victoria.

Blantyre dominated the first half scoring early thanks to a Rovers mix up in defence, this was followed by an unstoppable free kick from around 25 yards to put Blantyre Victoria 2 ahead.

A fine finish from about 30 yards from Ben Patterson pulled one back for Carluke and thats how the 1st half finished.

Carluke improved in the 2nd half and were awarded a penalty as Christy Lawlor was adjudged to be felled by the Blantyre defender. Ben Patterson stepped up but his spot kick was well saved.

A few minutes later Ben Rennie scored Carlukes equaliser and finished off a good night when he scored Carlukes 3rd.

A great workout for the lads and a good test against decent opposition.

This Saturday sees another Division 1 side in St Rochs come visiting the John Cumming Stadium as Thomas Devine continues to build his new look Rovers side.
