Carluke Rovers Football Club can confirm the appointment of Paul Davies and Craig Gupwell as the club’s new management team.

The former Newmains United bosses have signed for the club following a meeting on Wednesday night and will take charge of the first team with immediate effect. The appointment of Davies and Gupwell comes after a robust recruitment process with several candidates being interviewed by the club’s committee.

The pair started management with Newmains United in 2018, leading the club to their highest league finish in over a decade and helping develop many of the club’s young talent.

Davies said: “It is a huge honour for me to represent and manage Carluke Rovers Football Club. Not only is it a great club with a 135-year history it’s also my hometown team which I’m very proud of. After speaking with the committee last week both Craig and I felt it was a great opportunity and we can’t wait to get started”.

Carluke Rovers committee man Steven Kane said, “Paul and Craig come with a wealth of experience in football and the junior game in particular. They did an excellent job at their previous club both on and off the pitch and the committee felt that with the current set up at Carluke Rovers and the players under their tutelage they can help us progress by putting a winning team on the pitch.
