Another season’s over and what a successful one it’s been, culminating in promotion on the last day of the season, in the most bizarre yet upon reflection, strangely satisfying of circumstances.

During my 3.5 years as Chairman we had our share of challenges and anxious moments both on and off the park, challenges which were always faced ‘head on’ by a strong, fiercely loyal, determined and astute committee who I will always be indebted to, especially for their navigational skills in steadfastly helping to steer the club in the right direction and for holding a steady course, consistently demonstrating their desire and willingness to always act in the best interests of the club.

Such a display of strength and determination ‘off the park’ was met in equal if not greater proportions on the park by the players and management team and it’s been a privilege to be part of their achievements.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to our sponsors, cohort of unpaid volunteer helpers and supporters, without them we just couldn’t continue to operate.

Playing entertaining and an attacking brand of football coupled with local community support are key to the sustainability and future prosperity of the club and I hope our promotion to Division 1 will have a desired positive effect and will generate 20 or 30 more locals in filling the stand on a Saturday afternoon as this much needed support would be invaluable.

To everyone at Carluke Rovers – Best Wishes for the future.
