Match Report

It was a much improved performance by the Rovers against Royal Albert following last weeks disappointing defeat to Newmains United.

Carluke started the match well and were playing some nice attacking football, they were rewarded with a penalty in the 8th minute. Steven Frame stepped up to take the penalty that was well saved by the Royal Albert keeper but Frame was quickly onto the loose ball to score and open the scoring.

The Rovers nerves were settle and James Frame and Dillan Duddy continually caused problems down the wings.

Just 8 minutes later Frame had his double as he pounced on a loose ball and placed a fines shot into the back of the Albert net.

The Rovers continued to press and threaten and were rewarded again in the 29th minute when Kalvin Hill reacted quickly from a ball off the Royal Albert bar and shot home past a helpless keeper.

The score remained 3-0 until half time.

The Rovers then came out in the 2nd half but the drive and possession that seen them so far ahead in the first half was not quite there and Royal Albert were coming back into the match.

Little real opportunities for both sides as they both took the opportunity to make several personnel changes.

It took until the 69th minute before we seen another goal, this time an excellent corner from Duddy was met well by Kalvin Frame who sent an unstoppable header into the top of the Albert net.

To top off a great day for Hill, in the 88th minute he pounced on a great through ball and with the keeper coming well out his box Hill easily rounded the keeper and although the Albert defender made a valiant effort to catch him he easily slotted the ball into an empty net to score his hat-trick.

That should have been the end of the scoring but a lapse of concentration in the 90th minute seen Royal Albert get a consolation goal.

A good pre-season run out for the boys and much improved from last week which delighted manager Mark Weir.
