Match Report

Rovers returned to winning ways by securing a vital 3 points against a youthful Ardeer Thistle side on Saturday.

The Carluke men opened the scoring after three minutes when Lafferty cut in from the left edge of the box to side foot his shot into the far corner of the net.

The home side almost equalised directly from the restart when Rovers were still celebrating their opening goal.

Fortunately Rovers keeper Adam Brown was equal to the close range shot and rushed off his line to block the attempt with his legs on the 6 yard line.

With Rovers applying intense intense pressure on the home side both Larkin and Lafferty squandered scoring chances by repeatedly straying offside from inside the home sides half.

Rovers extended their lead on 15 minutes when Weir slotted a 20 yard pass through to Lafferty who made no mistake with his close range effort.

Half Time – Ardeer Thistle 0 Carluke Rovers 2

Rovers went into overdrive in the second half with Lafferty, Larkin, McKenna and Grierson all having shots saved by the home sides keeper.

Rovers went 3 ahead when Dominic Chiedu poked the ball over the line following a corner which was quickly followed by a fourth goal when Cassidy spotted Grierson making a late run to the back post as he fired the ball home.

Rovers then piled on the misery scoring four goals in six minutes with two from Larkin one each from Biggart and Cassidy and ending with Lafferty completing a hat trick.
